There have been a lot of discussion on consciousness between east and west .The Indian philosophy have been always focused on the consciousness but now a days some western people also believe about the consciousness and also set up organization for study of consciousness .
As per the Indian philosophy and philosopher the consciousness is nothing but existence of human itself is consciousness. In other words the human is essence of the universe as a consciousness that could see , listen or feel the universe as said by Ekhurt Tolly .
As per as the human brain is considered when brain is conscious then only human realize the reality or true vision about the material world . The vision is come on existence by the light or fire and everything come in the existence by the light or fire even human also that is why enlightenment of the mind is also called consciousness.
Your “I” exists in the consciousness, not in the physical body. Consciousness per se is information.Informational connection exists beyond time and field. It permeates the entire universe.Information does not disappear, it can only change its medium. And we can not say for sure in what form and where it exists. In nature, nothing disappears but passes from one state to another. There is no such concept as “disappear.” Therefore, consciousness passes from one form to another, from one carrier to another—if it exists within us at all!
It can be said that consciousness doesn’t exist within a person, that it is around him, or maybe even in a completely different dimension, in another space. Our brain is kind of a modem that picks up the general consciousness to the extent that it needs to realize itself at the moment; It only changes its structure, design, just as our body decomposes into basic elements.
Conclusion: Am supporting a holographic understanding and model of consciousness, also with respect to subconscious and conscious information-processing.
Consciousness pervades the universe and is a fundamental feature of it, dear Vivek Kumar Sharma . The basic commitment is that the fundamental constituents of reality—perhaps electrons and quarks—have incredibly simple forms of experience, and the very complex experience of the human or animal brain is somehow derived from the experience of the brain’s most basic parts. Human beings have a very rich and complex experience; horses less so, mice less so again. As we move to simpler forms of life, we find simpler forms of experience. Perhaps at some point the light switches off, and consciousness disappears. But it’s at least coherent to suppose that this continuum of consciousness carries on into inorganic matter, with fundamental particles having unimaginably simple forms of experience. Physical science describes matter from the outside in terms of its behavior. But matter from the “inside”—that is, in terms of its intrinsic nature—is constituted of forms of consciousness. We know that consciousness is informational and exists only because we are conscious; the informational connection exists beyond time and field, in terms of an autodidactic (eternal?) process.
The Indian Philosophy depicts about the consciousness in many ways because this is the essence or central elements of Indian Philosophy.
The statement or term " Aaham Brahmasmi " means I am myself brahma and creator of the universe or I am universe itself .
The events in which the Yashoda had seen the universe in the mouth of Krishna that also depicts that human itself a model of universe or human itself conscious model of universe by which universe watching, hearing , feeling itself .
Thank you for the interesting topic of discussion.
Ramkrishna Paramhansa defined consciousness as the realization of one's own survival.
I don't think that there is one section of the brain that is related to consciousness. The brain and the rest of the body, as a whole, is responsible for consciousness.
