In last year or so I tried to figure out difference between those two terms. And there is no simple answer. Closer I come is that Start-up is actually Financial product. As most of them are looking for the money, and investors looking to buy cheap and sell expensive. At the other side entrepreneurs produce new employment and generate value for the society not for the finical market. As they are different phenomena, but in most research term is used with not clear distinction we have messy situation. At least what I found. Lot of money was spent on learning young entrepreneurs how to pitch to investors, not how to for example control quality of the product, manage relationship with customer or do the analysis of company activities.
