I am not an EU citizen. Live in a developing country. Since last five years I am working with educational institutions and one of my main objective has been how to  create environment  leading to student entrepreneurship. 

My experience is that soft products are easier to market for students. where as hard products are nearly impossible. The main reasons are as follows.

1- There is no proper documentation associated with these products.

2- The product support and warranty structure is not there.

3- Copyright is not readily obtainable.

4- There are cultural pressures on budding entrepreneurs to find a job,

5-  Business cost is not  affordable and/or sustainable.

I have been associated with engineering institutions since last thirty years, As regards  entrepreneurship education in these institutions it is practically non existent. 

The hard fact is that there are many innovative products which  with moderate efforts can be easily marketed and become source of revenue to these institutions but unfortunately institutions and accreditation organizations at present are focused upon producing good engineers and expert programmers but No Entrepreneurs .

I hope this is not the case in EU and other places.

Dear people, thnx for contribution.  And 2 Abdul, unfortunately this is case at least in Croatia. Even out of engineering context - creative industries are very important in EU economy (535 B Eur and 7 M jobs). I done really brief overview of topics in some art schools in Croatia - and there is no any entrepreneurship/business/organisation/management courses. Hopefully we develop our research further.

I am working on a research oh the impact of Entrepreneurship education on non-business graduate students at my institution. One of the objectives of the program is to develop the students' positive attitudes towards entrepreneurship as an opportunity and alternative for their career options

Learning by failing: What we can learn from un-successful entrepreneurship education!

"This paper aims to understand why some Entrepreneurship Education (EE) initiatives in secondary schools are ineffective. Specifically, the goal of this paper is to identify mistakes, which could have been responsible for the failures and to derive some useful lessons from them. From a theoretical perspective, it reviews entrepreneurship literature in order to examine the main five constitutive elements of EE in secondary schools: what should the goals of EE be, who should attend EE, who should teach it, what should be taught and how it should be taught. From an empirical perspective, it provides descriptions of the unsuccessful EE initiatives under investigation and discusses failure by collecting the opinions of stakeholders (teachers, principals and students) involved...."
