Can it be used to focus radiation from antenna to a specific direction? So far I have only found a paper regarding the application of this.
Electromagnetic Lens-focusing Antenna Enabled Massive MIMO
For microwave and mmWaves, we can use dielectric lenses for focusing the electromagnetic signal, similar to the optical light. However for lower frequencies you may refer to "Ring-Shaped Antenna Directors" which is basically exploiting the Fresnel zones concept, by blocking some of the zones using metallic rings, the "unblocked" zones combine in a constrictive manner and increase the directivity of the receiver.

Thank you Manish for sharing such a nice news and information. What do you think, this structure mentioned in the article can be used at the transmitter and the receiver to converge and or diverge EM waves. Can this be used for beam-forming or beam steering.
What could be better. Beam forming by RF Butler matrix or using meta materials for EM lens. Time will tell.
