Thank you Naresh for sharing this paper. This study showed a brief note for embryos of 2-4-8 cell stages, still I need a detailed protocol for karyotyping of morula and blastocyst.
Hi Islam, although it's an old post, I'm still trying my luck to ask you if you have a working protocol for Karyotyping of mouse blastocysts now. Also, are there any changes in Karyotyping different stages of embryos? It would be great if you could share your experience. Thank you.
I didn't use mouse embryos before but as far as I know, the protocol of karyotyping (from oocyte till blastocysts) is similar to most of the mammalian embryos.
Thank you for your reply Islam. I think the protocols I have so far come across, are very similar to karyotyping any cell type, the only tricky part being the embryo splitting procedure. Could you perhaps share your protocol and any tips if at all? Thanks again. Regards.
There is no need for embryo splitting if you analyze the whole embryo. But if you want to analyze some cells, you may take biopsy either through microdissection or embryo splitting or through micromanipulator, and both need training for several times.
