I am well versed in AFM analysis of DNA origami structures but would like to collect some TEM images of my samples to also be able to carry out elemental analysis. I have been trying to adhere my DNA origami samples to copper TEM grids with a lacey carbon support film, but to date I'm having issues with board attachment. I have plasma cleaned the grids prior to deposition and negatively stained the samples prior to imaging. Does anyone have a methodology which works well for adhering DNA origami to such grids? I would be open to other grid options also if a good protocol is a available for another type. Thank you.

Looks like you have done everything right. I would suggest you try to 'glow discharge' the carbon coated grid before applying samples, skipping plasma cleaning. Glow discharge makes the surface more hydrophilic thus making the sample adhere well. Hope this helps.
