What valuable information can be extracted by performing EIS at different potential Vs OCP (let say performing around the redox peak region for an energy storage material). Also which is the preferred way to reach at that potential, by slow LSV to that potential or by directy giving input value of that potential. Link of any relevant paper regarding this is highly appreciable.
The primary data come from a combination of the two old (classic) techniques :
1. AC[1] complex Impedance Z(f) and
2. DC[2] (quasi-DC) i-E for electrodes (and Cells) measurements.
Thus we obtain certain E-parametric Z(f) spectra having more flexibility on enhanced 1)primary data plots as well as 2)models' parameter combinations. Also, we can measure in-situ Z(f) spectra of the E-modified (or other parameter) electrodes[2] . Some examples are Mott Schottky plot (as Artur Braun), enhanced 3D Tafel plots[2b] etc.[3]
Note : About the preferred way to reach at that potential: slow LSV (i.e. using small dEstep) is preferable. However the time constant of your target study will show how to find the best (-realistic) solution for E-range and dEstep.
