I wondered if Niob(V)-oxid as a dielectric high-index material is UV-sensitive like TiO2. Is there any fluorescence or decomposition? Any literature recommended?
Moritz.... Oxides of metals such as Nb, Ho and others are incorporated in making special glas that best fit as photometric filters to select fairly narrow wave length bands for special applications. The effect of UV/Vis radiation is not permanent and the material gets beck to original structure. Nowadays many research teams are involved in the preparation of sensors for UV applying the doping of TiO2 with other oxides.
