I'm an academician for past 10 years and love to continue with the same, a question pops-up at in mind from time to time, what to focus more on? Conference papers, Journal paper, book chapters, well-reputed publication, easy publication, my own book, else?
This is because I want to know how and what to focus on for a fruitful academic achievements.

As an academician need journal publications (ABCD) and writing book is an essential growth in the pathway.
Depends on what you can produce more of for the department you are in. In the U.K. the research excellence exercise, a discipline that helps to contribute the ranking of your department/faculty, an academic paper in a high ranked journal is just as valued as if you had written a book.
priority depends on whether you write to satisfy your academic interests or your professional career and CV
lt's better to focus on new topics for your research and choose journals that have high impact factor.

Besides our typical academic publication as you did mention, as researchers, we need as well to translate our results and outputs into layman terms for the benefit of society, we can use mass media such as television and radio and social media too. We should share our research results so that the public is aware of our research.
I normally follow my level and job promotion requirements. In our place the main things are supervision, publication, writing books and attracting funds. So you go as per what you have to attain what you don't have.
