Hello,
For a medical application, we need ultrasonic waves to pass through a steel applicator (glue the piezoelectric ceramic to it), so it is necessary to minimize the amount of attenuation in the environment. Does anyone have experience in this field?

Hello Ali,
this is an interesting question. For your purpose you need a high elastic steel. Lets say, you have a tool steel with 0,9 % carbon. If this steel is hardend, you can it use for tools. If the steel is annealed, the structure changes from perlit to austenit (if I remember right). This structure changes between 300°C and 400°C. If the heat is to high, the steel will be weak. You can observe this very well by the temper color. If the steel colors blue the hardness is lost.
