َAsi know , when the brain death occurs for someone , we can say he is dead Although other organs are healthy . my question is What happend for brain cells that we cant rcovery them?
There are different forms of cell death in establishing brain death. Scientists are trying to find ways to preserve the viability of brain cells after the onset of brain death (in Attachment).
The brain dies in a few minutes but the body remains moving because the heart is still beating and the blood is flowing and lasts longer but these movements are not in themselves proof of life as long as the brain dies.
I can't answer your question, and no one else seems to have done so. However, I will point out that neurons are more dependent on oxidative metabolism than cells in the rest of the body. Accordingly, they would be expected to undergo irreversible damage more rapidly when oxygen is in short supply.
A paper has reported that in some few patients, the neurons (or glial cells? see Stereade) seem to be generating delta-like waves (similar signals than deep sleep) for some time (?). If that can be replicated, what is happening to the mind? How we should treat a cadaver?
