What geochemical informations can the fracture developments and phenocryst sizes of clinopyroxene (Cpx) in basaltic magmas reveal?

For example, the Cpx in some types of basalts show large phenocryst and significant fracture development, while the Cpx in other types of basalts have small phenocryst and insignificant fracture development. Such systematic microscopic features is intersting but also confusing, and i hope to get your answers.
