I have been set the following question and would be grateful for any suggestions regarding which gene would be suitable for sequence alignment and subsequent tree construction? (I'll be conducting a multiple alignment and phylogenetic tree to assist in answering the question below). 

"Frogs" and "Toads" are not formal taxonomic names but have a commonly understood meaning; toads generally being associated with, "a tailless amphibian with a short stout body and short legs, typically having dry warty skin that can exude poison." When considering toads in the context of frogs, are toads a monophyletic, paraphyletic or polyphyletic group?
