I am looking for a functional group that could contribute to the binding of a ligand targeting methionine residue. If anyone could give me a suggestion and probably a practical example would be nice. Also, any suggestion that concern a phamacokinetic properties would be lovely.

Methionine has a hydrphobic side chain. Hence, a hydrophobic ligand group would work best. It should not be very flexible though to minimize the entropic repulsion that would occur between two flexible groups.
