An old blog article by Joe Bower entitled: Stop writing the objectives on the board brings out a lot of contradictory view points, although I would say most people agree with the sentiments in the blog title.  Also at the start of this blog a video recounts  a wonderful lesson, where students allegedly are not aware of the learning objectives.  My view is that they are aware of the objectives.  The teacher cleverly engaged them at the start.  Do we need to overly state Learning Intentions or ensure that the students are engaged in them?  Can anyone suggest good ways of establishing learning intentions.
