Only by strict rules against child labor and spreading awareness of education and the children's in India whom we see daily in traffic signals begging for money must be prohibited by government necessary arrangement should be made for them for their education.

Stringent punishment,increasing the awareness and rehabilitative measures are the key. 

Punishment  is not the key. Those who hire child labor will just go underground. One  powerful key  is to provide good contraception so desperate parents do not have to feel that they must sell  their children into child labor or as child brides to older men.. Having men form groups to discuss the denigration of girls and women and to enlighten other men about the need for equality of cherishing children of each gender is an important step. MEN helping men understand the power and fairness  of  providing education for girls to increase the economic well being  of their countries and the  personal well being of  generations of  their own children. and families.

I think the starting point must be a process of re-acculturation. it is easy for us who hold particular vuiews to assume that it is commonsensical to hold such views. Why should children be suppressed? It is a no-brainer from our point of view that they should not be suppressed. However, others would disagree because they have been acculturated into a norm that sees children as clay that we have to mold to suit our expectation. Changing that mindset takes a lot of work and more importantly, empirical rather than ideological  arguments. Our goal must be to raise their awareness of what we think are the down side to surpressing children.

child suppression in my view is a manifestation of lack of awareness of proper parenting. Is society educated on the aspect of being a good parent? A child is not an evolved human rather is entirely dependent for psychological or physical development. The root cause is the people doing it. Laws or regulations is one aspect or the solution. we need a movement, a change of culture. Something on the lines of women rights where the society has to accept a child's rights as constant.

For developing economies the poverty of the parent is the cause. Rest all actors in the game are just exploiting the gaps. Treatment should be given for poverty. Right to Education laws of India is a good starting point.

Let us see what is suppressed.  It is FREEDOM.  We cannot suppress anything else. What gives us freedom?  It is KNOWLEDGE.  And knowledge kindles WISDOM.  This Wisdom is the tool to fight suppression.  It is our responsibility to create an awareness in a child to stand-up for THE RIGHTS he/she deserves.

WOW, I for one am most saddend by this discouse so far.  It is us who are the problem. I mean us in the macro sense. Demand the suply chain from the raw materials, to the factories, to the shipping company's ect.

Not one that based of abstract thoughts or concepts but on that every human being on this planed as being not has the right to but is guaranteed food, clothing, health care, shelter, and water for life. Let us look not outward but inward because we are the ones that built the nation sated, socially constructed the institutions, allowed countless wars, still allow torture to be praticed in over 140 countries, and children to be bought and sold because we prefer saving a dollar. What shall we do,sterialize them? 

Last thing, lets get out of the way and let women run the show for a while. Why? Because we should been fired a long time ago. Think of it this way, if the earth was your factory and the people your employees as a buessness person after doing a cost benifit analysis balanced the books and based on production capasity for 3,000 years would you fire me?

In response to Douglas, I would like to insist that I am definitely NOT an 'MCP'.  But what on earth made him think that GENDER is the solution.  Have we any historical evidence where kids were happy in matriarchal societies!  Of course, bringing-up children and parenting play a vital role in socially constructing child stereotypes (in Homi Bhabha's sense).  I bet it should be a collective effort.  Blame Game, Passing the Buck are theoretical constructs which are nurtured by "implications" and "representations."  All succumb to one domain or the other - few to scientific, few to cultural, few more to spiritual, few others to religious, social, political, economic, and so on.

Arsenals of flamboyance, vitality,

Hearts of genuine warmth,

I like to look at the world,

Through their curious exploratory eyes,

Fresh first-hand virgin apparatus of infinity,  

Innocent, and happy observers,

Incorrupt, inoffensive mirrors, 

Positive, harmless, pure, untainted prisms,

Simple, spotless, sinless sceneries,

They directly say what they see,

Explicitly mean what they say, 

Dramatically show what they feel,

No noxious sarcasm, no caustic biting ironies,

No insulting hints, no toxic overtones,

Devoid of all irritating resentful mysteries of our discourse,

Millions worked in colonial agricultural plantations,

Mines and domestic service industries,

Dig the ore by hand, carry sacks of ores on their naked wounded backs,

Are then purchased by companies,

Child porters, kayaye in Ghana trapped by religious servitude,

Young girls working to atone for parents’ sins,

Pastoral labour, garbage collection, mining,

Selling scrap stuff, street vending, herding and begging,

Sex tourism, in Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret,

Salt mining, gem and gold collection,

Petites bonnets in morocco in predicament,

Plagued involuntary servitude,

Verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse,

Withheld wages,

Street children in Casablanca, selling cigarettes, shining shoes, washing cars,

They are exchanged for money, goods,

They are weak flimsy commodities, downtrodden, god-forsaken territories,

I like to look at the world,
