On performing the XPS analysis of non carbon containing composite, the revealed spectra of carbon showed two more peaks at higher binding energy values than one at 284.8 eV.
Can you specify the binding energy you would like to identify?
It can be pottasium K p3/2 at 292 eV or carbon in form of carbonyl or carboxyl...
Thanks Katerina for your answer. The binding energy value of the peaks are almost 298 and 312 eV. I don't think there could be carbonyl or carboxyl form as my synthesized material is pure mixed metal oxide.
These values seems as typical position for 4d3/2 and 4d5/2 of Iridium (312 and 297 eV).
If you have there also the peaks at 60-65 eV typically used for fitting, it is totally iridium.
what was the material you were investigating? did you have Ir in your sample?
