I am currently working on a project regarding to the differences in consumer behavior of the Y and Z generation, and I would like to hear the opinion of other researchers. Thanks!
Dear Sladjana Starcevic ,in my personal opinion: in Indonesia, one consumer group tends to like traditional systems and it is difficult to accept change, while one consumer group likes all forms of renewal, more modern life. this is difficult when the government makes regulations. Regards.
There are many differences between consumers such as tastes, consumer income, alternative commodity prices, changes in the price of the commodity itself, and whether the need is necessary or complementary and other influences
I can say that Y generation consumer who was born between( 1977 -1994) and Z generation consumer was born (1995-2012). It is supposed that Z generation consumers are extremely digitalized in term of technologies, social networking arena. Z generation consumer is less price sensitive to Y generation consumer for fashionable goods( dress, shoes, mobile phone, music) luxurious items( recreation, vacation, TV, car, etc). Z generation spends more money and time in virtual world than Y gen.

Dear Fazlul Hoque , thank you very much for your answer. I completely agree with you. There are many differences regarding to information search, use of technology, relationship with brands, career path etc.
Gen Z ppl definitely are risk takers, with penetration of internet at affordable prices now more and more ppl belonging to Gen Z are switching over to online or mobile platforms for shopping.. They dont mind shopping in a virtual world, they look for convenience, enjoyment, ease of use, benefits in terms of heavy duscounts, cashbacks being offered through online retailers. On the other hand Gen Y still are reluctant and prefer conventional stores when it comes to buying. Gen Y ppl prefer avoid risking their personal information being shared online, while Gen Z ppl dont mind doing online transactions..
Good morning Sladjana Starcevic , Generation Z cendering was born after 1995, they are already familiar with modern technology, familiar with the internet and some web or cellular applications to fill life, tend to thirst for progress, tend to be millennial, life is more dynamic and attractive. while Y generation like me are born before 1995, tend to be the older generation, experience traditional technology in their past lives, experience life between generations, sometimes there are people who don't like technological advances in their lives, and some tend to maintain traditional life. for example food supply, barber, beauty care, living traditions and norms in the environment. but these two generations replaced each other and lived side by side, between the old and the young. thank you. Regards.
In my opinion the project research orientation "to the differences in consumer behavior of the Y and Z generation" can be time- and place- specific, since the technological background and the socio-cultural features are diversified as period and place of analysis are varied. Of course, the community digitization strategies, the educational background, and the technological advancements' spur are critical aspects to the project integration.
Already many great responses; I would like to add the idea of value shift between Y and Z generation of customers. This value shift reflects the rapid tech-know-logical evolution, but also the expansion of human choices by closing information-gaps. With reference to Peter Drucker, his statement: the purpose of business is to create a customer—-should be given consideration. Maybe, also the cultural value deprivation concept of Ayn Rand makes sense, with respect to generational communication differences and behavioral attitudes.
