Dopamine system pathology in schizophrenia is predominantly presynaptic, and there are no significant changes in the number of postsynaptic dopamine receptors. However, according to Seeman and Seeman (2013), there may be an increased sensitivity of dopamine postsynaptic receptors, which resembles the denervation supersensitivity in Parkinson's disease.

Is it possible at all, if we consider that there is no degeneration of dopamine neurons in schizophrenia? What do you think about it?
