We are making polyurethane foam wound dressing and the amount of water absorption is very important. This foam is made of pre-polymer contains TDI and PEG.

The molecular weight of the peg used is 1000. What molecular weight do you suggest?@Abdelkader
Higher than 1000, but keeping the same ratio OH/NCO, both swellability and hygroscopy increase. Good Luck

Which basic polyether polyol do you use? If it is a PO based polyol you should substitute it by a copolymer of PO and EO with lower functionality such as Lupranol 2048 (30 % EO) and adjust the OH NCO ratio to more than 1.3 as is done in viscoelastic foams. Avoid to use TDI but use instead MDI.
