It is very sensitive to ditermine the context of word we use. by "new" I can understand unprecedented thing; thus new world may mean totaly new world with novel facts and effects.
as such it is impossible, from my point of vies to look for a new world, but we can introduce ameliorations that facilitate the difficulties of every day life.
further i think that the contemporarly worl is not our own possession, but is further the possession of our ancestors and those who will come after us.
"New World" is an established idiom, referring specifically to North and South America in relation to Europe after the early voyages of European explorers . "New", because Columbus did not expect those continents to be there, thinking he'd arrived at Asia from the other side and regarding the inhabitants as "Indians", a misnomer we use to this day. If you want to use the term differently, you need to distinguish the New World (definite article and capitalization) from a new world, although if you want to preserve a metaphorical connection with the established idiom you could use capitals here as well (e.g. like calling someone a Napolean). You might compare the situation with the term "the Middle East" which has an established use referring roughly to the area from the eastern Mediterranean to Iran, whereas in certain contexts one might also speak of the middle east of the United States (just according to the compass and not intending it as a metaphor); sometimes the two might be confused if not enough context is provided.
