Hello,
I am going to calculate UV-vis spectrum, however I have a problem with amount of memory used for calculation. I would like to calculate for more than 25 states.
For 6 shared processors I can set only 1 GB and as a result error appears:
"Out-of-memory error in routine CISAX (IEnd= 443975238 MxCore= 134216527)
Use %mem=424MW to provide the minimum amount of memory required to complete this step.
Error termination via Lnk1e"

I had the same problem once. Save the Gaussian input file in some other location where there is a free space. definitely, i hope this will help you.

it is not a problem with HDD space but with amount of RAM memory.

it is clear however I cannot set more than 1GB because error occurs upon calculation at the begining.

from your statement, I can see the program's recommendation as:
" Use %mem=424MW to provide the minimum amount of memory required to complete this step"
I think 424 MW is less than 1GB that you determined for the program. I think your operating system can not provide 1GB of RAM for Gaussian software, so you should choose a lower amount of RAM in your input file.
I suggest test %mem=424MW in your input file.
I guess that there is a problem w Gaussian software, because my computer has 32GB of RAM memory.

go to calculation setup -> link 0 -> options -> memory limit -> 500 MW or what ever you need

In all versions below 16 specify memory in input file. In G16 use -m XXX in command line. Example: g16 -m=48GB
