According, cubic Zirconia/YSZ shows a broad Raman peak centered at ~ 605 cm-1 corresponding to the F2g mode. I want to know the physical interpretation of the F2g mode
A F2g mode is a threefold degenerated mode (hence the F), which is symmetric with regard to one of the fourfold rotation axis. The "g" shows that there is an inversion center which is kept during the vibration.
