To find out if conferences are predatory or questionable, there exists several strategies.

A good starting point is „Combatting Predatory Academic Journals and Conferences“ [1], where you will find examples of guides and resources for identifying predatory conferences (p. 54). An informative paper concerning this question was published by McCrostie (2018) [2]. Then, I would recommend to use the following tools: For journals, there is a tool to check if they are predatory: Think. Check. Submit. https://thinkchecksubmit.org/, for conferences there is something similar: Think. Check. Attend: https://thinkcheckattend.org/.

Sorry for the interrupted sentence. I sometimes see big names as the conference chairperson. However, when I get in touch with, they do not have any idea about the claimed conference.
