When I use cells grown to mid - log phase, immediately out of the incubator, I obtain a MIC of 200 ug/ml for a peptide I am investigating. When I use mid - log cells that have been removed from the incubator for 48 hours, I observe an MIC of 6 ug/ml for the same peptide. The two experiments are conducted exactly the same and incubation is exactly the same period.
Is it possible that the cells are going latent so fast after being removed from the incubator?
Any links to literature will be great as well.
Thanks!
