I need to know how well porosity and hydraulic conductivity are correlated in coarse sands and in clayey soil types. Kindly provide for other soil types also.

There are several relationships linking particle size and hydraulic conductivity (Fetter, Hazen). You could read the publication from Gens (2010) published in Geotechnique 60, No. 1, 3–74 if encountering unsaturated zone. Similarly, I always suggest he use of Artificail Neural Networks when trying to estimate hydraulic conductivity from partial soil cahracteristics. Porosity (n) is an important factor to distinguish the discharge velocity (Vd) and Seepage velocity (Vs) through soil. i.e. Vs=Vd/n
