An old but good example is the public housing buildings erected in the Red Vienna (1918-1934). The most famous one is the Karl Marx-Hof building. It was really large, and it provided an interesting relation between private and public, with some common services.
Thanks for your responses. I have recently discovered a publication that may be interesting: ' Indoor ‘Public: Space: A study of atria in mass transit railway (MTR) complexes of Hong Kong'
Hi Collin, How about "Sesc Pompeia" in Sao Paulo- Brasil, it was an old fabric that was transformed in public/private space - library, theater, restaurants, gym, parks, etc.
Another example is "Matadero" in Madrid - Spain. It's like a Cultural Center with vast activities types (exhibition, theater, cinema, dance, concerts, etc...)
