I prepared serial dilutions from a food sample and plated 1 millilitre of a dilution on VRBGA. After incubation for 20 hours i realised the agar had turned yellow. What could be the cause of this occurrence?
The medium turned yellow due to the growth of non-fermented Gram-negative bacteria
