I have received primocane raspberry material in chinese containers which looked healthy.  Once deflasked they do not root and at week two after tents are removed they desiccate quite quickly.

Under the microscope there are  longitudinal splits in the main stem which would have been the original subculture plantlet.  These splits are enhancing fungal attack upon the plant by providing an open door.

My original thought was salt induced stress where the centre tissue outgrew the outer tissue causing what we would determine in the normal nursery situation as salt burn.

My other thought is that there is a link with ethylene build up in the chinese containers which is altering the ability of the 1%IBA effectiveness (Geert Jan DeKlerk 2002)

The deflask treatment is dip in 1ml/L Previcur, dip in 1500ppm IBA liquid, placed in 32mm cell with media composing of Peat, Cocopeat, Perlite. pH 6 and EC 0.59ms/cm3. Mondi hoods with vents at quarter open and moved to half open by week two. Bactivate(TM) at week two for plant growth and scariad control

I would welcome any thoughts on this issue as the damage is quite substantial to date
