My additional comment is that I think my articles which are cited more are because those topics/problems remain relevant for a long time and there are ones related to the current issues eg COVID.
A few of my papers have been highly cited because they provided a good critical discussion of research methodology in the area. At least that's the only reason I can think of. They were also interesting, and had large datasets, I have to add, but so had a lot of other less-cited papers.
It is very important that your meticulous when you identify keywords. It could be in the title, abstract, keyword section and so on. Keywords selected should have the power for future research and the most browsed words.
It will also be ideal if the article is published in certain widely accessible platforms too.
