I am trying to gather information on what someone would expect to pay per month for Iridium-based satellite services for collars?
That is very generalized, and I know it is dependent on:
a) the company providing the Iridium services
and
b) The amount of data transmitted
Therefore, if someone could provide me with examples of what they transmitted and subsequently paid that would be ideal.

I noticed a lot of these companies offering sat. phones do publish their prices for this service; however, they do not for the other services they offer ... in particular, for wildlife tracking.
I agree. However, I can imagine is not a "significant market".
Why do you need Iridium? is that because you need two way messaging? if only one way is enough, depending on the size of your target, a simple "SPOT Messenger", can provide geotracking at a smaller budget both for the device as well as the satellite service. The device is easy to open/modify into a collar or other platform.
Best would be you ask someone of the wildlife tracking companies, like lotek, vectronic aerospace etc.
Just ask them directly, the support is very good at most of the companies!
We use North Star for satellite tracking collars on swans and I know they do several other tracking devices for other wildlife species. I don't know what there pricing is but you could certainly get a quote from them.
