I was not engaged in photocatalysis on TiO2. However, I can suggest as a possible matrix - tohdite - 5Al2O3 • H2O.

Morphology and properties of tohdite were described in proceeding Ts24 of the 9th Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, 2004, Trieste, Italy (in attach). Also properties of tohdite can be found in the literature.

Das Produkt bei der Tohdite Synthese als Pulver gebildet ist. Seine Partikel eine MakroLamellenstruktur . Ich denke, dass die TiO2-Partikel oder Nanopartikel zwischen den Platten todita lokalisiert und wird in seiner Matrix sein. Dann hängt alles von dem Zweck und Art der Nutzung eines solchen Verbund

Thank you very much for the suggestions. Since the object is, to perform photocatalysis, light and substrate must have direct access to the TiO2. In Tohdite the Al2O3 has a competitive light absorbance and carbon nanotubes are shielding as well?

SiO2 would be useful. I am looking fro an appropriate silicate paint to fix the TiO2.

I think you can look at the TiO2/optical fiber system. Light can easily have a direct access to TiO2

I like the comments made above. I also like the comments made by Lechtken as support screens the light.

We used different supports (graphite, clay, sand, glass beads, etc.)

Typically the support increased TiO2 activity, by bringing the reactant molecules closer to catalyst site by adsorption. However, there are limits and balance offs.

You can examine different supports, but you will reach a state of balance off. After certain amounts of supported catalyst the activity will start to decrease (due to screening).
