Here, my student wants to make her research project on the topic “Distribution Channels and Its Impact on Life Insurance”. But till date, I am not in position to find any direction, where the project can lead......I need your genuine suggestion!!
Yes Renu, Your student has chosen a very interesting topic. The issue however is linked to the subject of Insurance Literacy as well. Are our people literate enough about Insurance products to be able to make their own choice about what insurance product is appropriate for the to purchase?
i would rephrase it as new distribution channels within life insurance and tackle the problem from an internet/ online, mobile, or IT perspective
it is similar to a paper on online banking or mobile banking or whatever new variant

1.You should investigate different distribution channels such as the Internet, banks and other non-traditional methods and foreign experiences extracted for use in your country market.

You should collect the sale volume of intended distribution channel and time series data for study period , firstly, calculate logarithm of the series and then using ADF, stationary of the series should be tested. As the next step, perform the Engle-Granger test to check the spurious regression and finally a long-run relationship between the variables should be estimated.
First , Point out different distribution channels used by life insurance companies
Second, Differnt products of life insurance if you are doing research on one organisation or comparison if doing on two org.
Third, See correlation of distribution channel on life insurance product on dimensions like sales, awareness, adverting, buying intention etc.
Four, Regression
It is an interesting topic. My master student is currently exploring on crop insurance in Malaysia and one area is the distribution channel as a barrier to implementation. The difference is crop insurance is not yet available in the Malaysian market while life insurance is already marketed.
