What research approach/design would you use to provide a comprehensive understanding of the efficacy of problem based learning in relation to student cognitive and emotional development?
Chris, thank you for your question. My main question is; Does Problem Based Learning (PBL) enhance meta-cognitive development? I situate myself in a sociocultural perspective within Feuerstein's theory of cognitive modifiability. My secondary interests are; if PBL is effective what are best practices associated with the facilitation of PBLs? and do PBLs lend themselves well to a sociocultural understanding of mediated learning and development?
