These sedimentary structures have been found and photographed in the Miocene-aged sandstones in the Makran Basin by one of my friends. The question is what these structures are and how they formed?
Your photos are so amazing as the Makran Basin! Apparently these patches are located on the layer's surface. However, there are two possibilities: 1- partially eroded concretions. 2- microbially mediated sand grains as a type of microbialite. The latter needs microscopic validations such as fenestral fabric and etc. I think they are a type of concretion.
It seems to be a secondary sedimentary structure such as nodule or concretion that also has fractures. It is better to prepare a microscopic thin section of this sedimentary structure and its host rock.
