Thank you for your reply. I agree. Use of wood and its durability in various structural applications is gaining importance worldwide. May be additionally performance of modifed wood and its degradation mechanism in comparison to the untreated ones against decaying organisms and fire is of importance too.

1.Wood is a naturally available low energy, eco-friendly material. It is basically good structural material by nature. How to improve its durability and stiffness is one area to work.

2. Use of bamboo along with wood is one option to make the lightweight structure.

3. Use of wood particle in composite materials using different matrix like cement, resin or plastic.

4. Improving fire resistance of wood by suitable coating, is one research area.

5. How to convert waste wood into coal or bitumen like material?
