What are the international standard regulations for the quality of produced water for reinjection purposes in oil reservoirs? What is the maximum micron (ppm) of dispersed or emulsified oil in produced water to be used for re-injection to improve oil recovery?
How deep is the water being reinjected? I.e. will the produced water be injected above or below and closed off from the potable aquifer?

It is produced from an oil reservoir of approximately 2000m depth and reinjected in the same formation. It won't be injected in an aquifer.

Two different claims available: 1) the maximum micron of oil in produced water MUST not exceed 10 ppm. 2) No problem until 40 PPM.
I hope to get a history of the quantities in different oil fields worldwide.
Watheg, I doubt there is a standard protocol and would expect each state follows the requirements of their individual oil and gas commission or regulatory agency. If the water is being injected into the same formation then I would suspect it needs to be free of any "new" contaminant that it did not have prior to being brought to the surface.
