Microbes function to maintain soil quality, plant growth, yield, and plant health. Microbes can fix atmospheric nitrogen, decompose organic wastes and residues, detoxify soil invaded with chemicals, suppress plant diseases and soilborne pathogens, enhance nutrient cycling, and produce bioactive compounds such as vitamins, hormones, and enzymes that stimulate plant growth.
The use of bio-inputs such as biofertilizers, biopesticides, and biodegraders comprising of beneficial microbes keeps our biogeochemical cycles alive by acting as miniature factories inside the soil and provides a continuous supply of nutrients as well as plant protection metabolites when required.

The green revolution has been achieved because of lab to land transfer technology . The biodiversity starts from microbes only. Microbes in the soil are performing commendable functions in sustainable microbial technology. Several bacterial-, fungal-based inoculates available in the market along with genetically modified organisms has formed new venture of green revolution. The future of sustainable agriculture is based on the efficiency of microbes.
The role of microorganisms in the green revolution is large, because many green technologies and eco-innovations use microorganisms. For example, wastewater treatment plants use microbes to recover clean water from polluted rivers. In addition, microorganisms are an important factor in the production of compost, organic fertilizers used in organic farming.
Significant use of different microbial formulations such as Biofertilizers, Biopesticides, Bioherbicides, Biofungicides, etc. have been increased since the green revolution.
Microbes play an important role in advanced agriculture production technology as there beneficial organisms are being identified; isolated and used for production of microbial formulations in the form of biofertilisers biopesticides and other beneficial products used in agriculture...
we will not survive without microbes...microbes are the entities which will provide nutrients to the plants as biofertilizer.. It protect plants as biopesticide...microbes are good food eg: mushroom, curd etc...it is the source of medicine eg: antibiotics.. The decomposition is not possible without microbes ..thus there are infinite benefits present over here.. Thank u
Well it's a important question sir, and I will answer that question with the help of dramatic Statment. I hope you get it. So, the role of microbes in agriculture for a green revolution is very well unique. Because according to many researchers now a days the main problem in agricultural lands(soil) is the presence of organic matter. But I think main problem is the decomposition of organic matter. Furthermore, these conversion of organic matter into humus will be done by microbes. That's why it's my believe ! If we want a green revolution we have to increase the number of beneficial microbes in our fields by the help of genetic modification as well as providing them a sutible conditions for their growth
