What are the reasons for deviation of average silica content of syenites?

Syenite generally contain silica in between 55 and 65 percent.

What are the reasons for getting more silica and less silica than the average value?

Is it exclusively due to presence of free quartz/ feldspathoid respectively as expected or any other reason.
