I have found it interesting to use the media theories of Raymond Williams, Communicative Rationality of Habermas and Semiotic studies of Mikhail Bakhtin to be very useful for analyzing the voices, narratives. These are only some methods. You may find a lot of other methods. The most important aspect is what do you want to analyze. Then theories can play a good role. They should not be the beginning point of the investigation.
