According to the fact that we couldn't use huge sonicators and run the same lab based experiment for industrial productions because of its acute or chronic health effects, I wonder what is the best replacement for sonication to obtain a homogenous mixture of polymers and nanosheets in industries?
Thanks for the suggestion Jafar, despite the fact that ball milling is known as a nice grinding method, I think that could be a blending option when reagents are already in nano size; however now that we are talking about nanosheets, there is also a slight chance that this method crush them to smaller pieces.
Maybe ultra-turrax (very high speed mixer) but the result is not guaranteed.
Ball milling has difficulty grinding anything to less than 0.1 um so if your 'nano sheets' are smaller than that, then you could mill. But why are you giving up on u-sound? Industrial scale reactors exist and are in use (search the web). Look at Article Ultrasound-assisted emerging technologies for chemical processes
for example. If you use continuous production (flow-through reactor) rather than batch (large reactor) you likely don't need such a large u-sound source too.I should add that if you want to try milling at lab scale, then I can help.
