If we measure the concentration of rainfall over the wet days (for example, using CI of Martin-Vide), what are the possible relationships between the number of wet days and the rainfall concentration? I have seen that sometimes the relationship is reverse (negative correlation) and sometimes is direct (positive correlation). Why?

That is, one would expect that higher concentration is always observed in climates with fewer wet days, but sometimes we can find cases with few wet days and rainfall is distributed uniformly, or in reverse. Are there explanations in dynamic meteorology? Thanks for your reply.
