Lately, several incidents related to blast/explosions in refrigeration systems such as Air conditioners and refrigerators have emerged in India. I would like to know more details about similar incidents in other countries if available.

I have been monitoring similar cases from past few few months and most of them reveal that the short circuit in the system is responsible for the blast. But how can short-circuits lead to explosions of such high intensity in refrigeration systems?.

Is it too early to blame the use of flammable refrigerants such as R600a for such incidents? How can we prevent such blasts?
