Could you please suggest relevant variables that could be investigated as a PhD proposal (for UK universities), my researching interest is related to accounting information systems, I have read about the block chain and data science aspects, but I am not sure whether this can be investigated across Jordanian and British population? and if yes, with which variables?

Accounting information can be considered as a Big Data, So, you can apply classification or prediction (Regression) algorithms on these data.
I believe that as long as you have enough data, you can go for data science approaches either to describe your data or to predict a target variable you have in mind. Actually, when you get more involved in implementing data science algorithms you will be able to derive your own variables that best represent your data. As for the Blockchain applications, you need to take a lot of different aspects into account if you want to consider it as a methodology, it all depends on what you want to do and if it is feasible to be implemented in the first place.
