Ethyl alcohol up to 0.1 mole fraction enhances the hydrophobic interaction of peptides. Make a microemulsion of an aqueous solution of ethyl alcohol.

Depending on your purpose you may associate the peptide onto the surface of nanoparticles by using physical or chemical method. I think chemical binding or electrostatic interactions is better than physical method.

1,4-Dioxane /water can be a good choice of solvent to immobilize peptide.

It depends very much on what you have and what you want.

You could alter the composition of your nano-emulsion (include either a more hydrophobic or more charged surfactant for example) or you alter/modify your peptide.

Perhaps it is worthwhile for you to check your peptide with Heliquest in order to see what kind of peptide you have. Does it contains a charged (for example positively charged) amino-acid. Is it overall hydrophobic and so. All you need is the FASTA form of your peptide sequence. See for Heliquest:

In combination with the so-called Heliquest based Eisenberg Plot method you can also determine whether your protein will probably act as a water-soluble, surface bound or even transmembrane peptide. See for more details:
