Universities exist to provide three main services,namely: Teaching, Research and Knowledge transfer to the industry/community. With outbreak of the pandemic which has grossly impacted economies, higher education being the one of the engine the economy has not been exempt of the effects.
I think it has a short term effect on Education since the various institution were unable to accomplish their plan of work (POW). Hence, completing the action plan will need extra expenses. Cost of work, general administration expenses and others will increase.
However, there would not be any long term effect or would be minimal

Very good question...
Most universities were forced to take their opportunities and convert them into strengths - mostly by offering distance learning if they haven't had it before etc. Universities were 'forced' to digitalize very quickly and I think that is a very good thing. On the other side, main negative effect lies in the fact that online classes 'rob' professors and teaching staff of personal contact, body language and overall stage presence.
Universities are such assets-intensive businesses and having the classrooms empty could lead to a 'stranded asset' effect which I personally would hate to see happen.

I think they have saved money on daily supplies and electricity as staff and students work from home. But, student enrollment would suffer in the future if they do not have strong online programme offerings:

The positive and negative aspects of COVID19 on university education management. The positive things are increasing awareness of e-learning. The negative thing is the student's lack of ethics, e-learning, and the many tools the student needs.
Positive: students have enough time to complete assignments and tests they 're given.
Negative: students from deep rural areas are struggling to study online due to lack of resources such as access to internet, or any thing that is connected with new technology and that may lead to bad achievement on their academics
Positive, because increment the creativity in students
Negative: there is not socialization, alone, contact face to face physically
I think it is negative because no face to face teaching not effective for depend online teaching only.
One of the most important positive effects of the Corona pandemic is that it prompted those in charge of education to come up with unorthodox ideas to mitigate the negative effects of disrupting the educational process, which had a great impact on low-income families with less opportunity to access technology and the Internet.
As for the positive effects, it is the student’s self-reliance and a good experience to acquire new skills. As for the negative effects, they are determined in cases of cheating and plagiarism.
