Many institutions are attempting to assist students in completing their studies so they can move on to employment or further studies. Graduation marks the successfu culmination of a programme of study. How do institutions make graduation meaningful within the context of a pandemic and social distancing protocols?
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, it is very important to avoid social gathering during graduation ceremony. Hence, the university authorities can decide on online graduation ceremony.
Graduation is not limited to wearing of hood/gown but ability for one to complete his courses get senate/council approval of results. In this COVID-19 pandemic social distancing is of utmost importance and should be encouraged. Any form of social gathering should be avoided including graduation ceremonies.
Education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. As part of its COVID-19 response, UNICEF is working with the Government to provide support and guidelines for distance learning and child protection while schools are closed, as well as supporting work on a TV programme to help children with limited internet access.

I totally agree with E. F. Chukwurah, everyone should play a role in the containment of this pandemic. Nonetheless virtual graduation ceremonies can be decided for universities with the amenities to do so.
We have postponed all graduation ceremony to a later date, in the hope that the virus will be over soon. So far, no virtual graduation ceremony has been suggested or practice by an university in my country.
Virtual is fine in this crisis. Otherwise maintaining social distancing with self protection only for short listed persons can be arranged.
Virtual educational sessions and graduation ceremonies are the order of the day in the times of he COVID-19 pandemic.

Students and their families are grappling with the reality of virtual graduations replacing traditional in-person ceremonies. While many schools are working to stay on track with an online May or June commencement, others are postponing graduation until the fall in the hopes of delivering a more traditional experience at a later date.

But from my humble point of view, that these graduation ceremonies are made online, and if it is not possible, there is no objection to canceling them in order to preserve everyone.
