The control theory is rich with the methods for analyzing the stability of time delay systems, however, these methods are usually very complex for engineering practitioners to apply on practical problems. Which are the most widely used methods in practice. I would like to know the methods that gained acceptance in industry.

You are not still very specific since energy system is a big topic but if you are saying that in a given control system, the response time of all closed loop system parts are not the same - some need fast response others may be medium etc based on the things you want to control (your time constants). So for those which needs fast response (a feed back to correct some value), you can set a band width (eg 200Hz) according to the time needed (the transfer function time constant) and for delayed response (eg, the speed of your PMSM generator...could be a wind turbine), you set a less sampling time (eg, 4Hz). It can work using microprocessor, you can program all these and can control a speed or torque or power output in an efficient way.

The first one deals with the stability of the load frequency control system in the Microgrid, and the second one deals with the stability of DC Microgrid implementing master-slave control strategy.
In these systems to be implemented over communication network you need to follow two approaches either to design a controller taking the delay into consideration or design your control then calculate the maximum allowable delay bound of the system. There are some methods that are applied in practice, however the literature contains many approaches but they are not applied widely because of their complexity. So i am looking for the methods that are already applied in industry.

Interesting discussion!. Very interesting responses and appropriate references suggested by Prof. Lafifi. As Samuel pointed out from the industrial viewpoint, suffcient conditions could be enough, and therefore you have many methods and viewpoints to be considered, e.g., absolute stability with a finite domain ((i.e., local asymptotic stability). I think that Khalil's book is very useful when you are dealing with nonlinear systems and nonlinearities. Many theoretical works do not sufficiently consider finite and bounded characteristics of physical variables (e.g., saturation in actuators).
