Now I am doing research on the communication modes and paths of Chinese minority cultures. I hope that experts can provide me with some communication modes and paths of cultural or intangible cultural heritage. Thank you
Safeguarding ICH means ensuring its viability among today’s generations and its continued transmission to tomorrow’s. Communities and groups of practitioners and other tradition bearers everywhere in the world have developed their own systems for transmitting their knowledge and skills, which more often than not depend – or, unfortunately, depended - on orality rather than on written texts.
You can start with the question what is intangible culture or cultural heritage... each example can speak by itself and there is no universal receipt for transmission. Especially if you are an outsider researching in someone's culture. There are a lot of texts on this theme... even when we work and investigate in our own cultures, very often we are faced with questions that we did not expected. In the case of the orally transmitted religious song of the ´auroros´ of Santa Cruz, in the Spanish province of Murcia, because it is a manifestation of popular religiosity, created in 1821 as ´Hermandad de Ntrª Srª del Rosario´, it is transmitted from three ways:
1) In person. The song is performed following the auroro ritual in liturgical acts (sung masses) and paraliturgical (awakenings of dawn and meetings).
2) Creation of the Aurora school. With public aid since 1994 the ´Aurora de Santa Cruz´ created a singing school.
3) Virtually. Since 2000 we have a website [www.auroros.eu] and we are present on Youtube [http://www.youtube.com/user/aurorossantacruz] and Facebook [http://losauroros.blogspot.com].
4) Publications. In 2007 the disco book catalog ´Fondo de Cultura Tradicional ”was created, made up of 22 publications of traditional music in its religious (auroros), playful and festive (animeros and aguilanderos) and popular poetic improvisation (trovo) aspects. It can be consulted at the following link: https://auroros.eu/shop/
