there was a nice demo in the matlab video analytics toolbox for doing this with steroscopics, I'm not sure if that helps or not. I admit I am not very familiar with coded aperture, but I am going to look it up now :)

thank you very much for your answers. I am asking with respect to the preparation of a coded aperture experiment and the optics of a camera system.

When estimating whether a coded aperture pattern will be distinguishable for given optic parameters and sensor resolution in advance, will it suffice to calculate the bokeh-size and see if it is reasonably large? (like http://www.marcuswinter.de/archives/1703 )
